Miss Heejin Thelen began dancing at the age of four in South Korea and continued her training after moving to the United States at eight years old. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Dance from Plymouth State University, specializing in Dance Pedagogy, and went on to perform throughout the Boston area while discovering her true passion for teaching.
In November 2012, Miss Heejin fulfilled her dream of opening Miss Heejin’s Dance Studio (MHDS) in Natick, Massachusetts. What began as a small local studio has since grown into a vibrant and highly respected dance community known for its exceptional training, award-winning choreography, and welcoming environment.
At MHDS, Miss Heejin has built a program that provides high-quality technical instruction across a wide range of dance styles, offering opportunities for dancers of all ages and levels. Her teaching philosophy centers on creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging space where every dancer can build confidence, express creativity, and reach their personal best—both in and out of the studio.
The MHDS Competition Team, open to dancers in Grades 1–12, has received numerous high-scoring and overall awards at regional and national competitions, showcasing the studio’s commitment to artistry, teamwork, and excellence.
Now celebrating more than a decade of dance, Miss Heejin continues to inspire her students with her positivity, dedication, and love for the art of dance—helping each dancer grow not only as performers, but as individuals.
